Commemoration of the 107th Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide by the ottoman empire at the Church of St. Gregory the Illuminator in Baghdad
On the 22nd of April 2022, His Eminence Archbishop Dr. Avak Asadourian, celebrated a Divine Liturgy at the Church of St. Gregory the Illuminator, on the occasion of the 107th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide by the Ottoman Empire. After the Liturgy, some songs, patriotic poems and documentaries were performed condemning the horrific massacres of the Ottoman Empire and Turks against the Armenians. The Zvartnots Church Choir and the Armenian National Committee participated in the program. His Eminence the Archbishop gave a preaching, stressing the fulfillment of truth and the need to increase the awareness role of today’s youth about the Armenian Genocide. wreaths were also placed on the memorial. The occasion was attended by the Ambassador of the Vatican Republic, Monsignor Minja Leskovar, Chargé d’Affairs of the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia, Mr. Alek Gharibian, the head and members of the Central Administrative Committee, heads and members of Armenian clubs and associations in Baghdad, a number of distinguished guests and faithfuls.
