On September 15th, 2022, The Cathedral of St. Gregory the Illuminator football team participated in the football championship within the activities of the St. Therese Festival of the Child Jesus and won second place.
The final match which was held on October 21st, 2022, at the Chaldean Mar Gorgis Church, was attended by His Eminence Archimandrite Oshagan Gulgulian, Primate of the Diocese of the Armenian Church of Iraq, and His Eminence Archbishop Jean Suleiman, Primate of the Latin community in Iraq, as well as some priests, and Mr. Garabet Kalustian, the member of the Armenian Diocesan council.
In addition to football, the cathedral’s sons also participated in various activities and won medals:
1- Player Nazar Krikorian won first place in the single ping pong game.
2- Players Nazar Krikorian and Rafi Loosian won the doubles ping pong game and got first place.
3- Miss karoon Belerian won the Best Voice Championship, also first place.
