-First day-
On October 26th, 2022, his Eminence Archimandrite Oshagan Gulgulian, Primate of the Diocese of the Armenian Church of Iraq, arrived Basra in a three-day pastoral visit.
His Eminence Archimandrite was accompanied by Mr. Melkon Melkonian, the Chairman of the Armenian Diocesan Council, Deacon Aram Ketenjian and Mr. Vahig Avedissian.
The next day, His Eminence the Archimandrite visited the Church of St. Virgin Mary of the Armenian Orthodox, wherein he was received by the pastor of the church, reverend father Ghevont Saghatilian, and members of the Armenian Diocesan sub council of Basra.
Then he visited the Chaldean diocese and was received by His Eminence Bishop Habib al-Nawfali, the head of the Chaldean sect in Basra.
His Eminence also visited the Syriac Catholic diocese and was received by the reverend father Boutros.
And as a conclusion his Eminence visited the Syrian Orthodox Diocese, and was received by Father Semaan Khadr.
His Eminence Archimandrite Oshagan Gulgulian invited the clergymen to attend the next day’s Divine Liturgy at the Church of St. Virgin Mary.
