On December 7, 2024, a celebratory Liturgy was held at the Church of Sacred Heart for the Chaldeans in Basra, presided over by His Grace Bishop Mar Athanasius Firas Dardar, the Patriarchal Vicar for Basra and the Arabian Gulf. The Liturgy included the ordination ceremony of Deacon Marwan Fransou as a missionary deacon. Also in attendance was the pastor of St. Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Cathedral in Baghdad, Reverend Father Kevork Arshagian.
