On the 13th of May 2022, at the hall of the Armenian Orthodox Archdiocese, a new Archbishop of the sect was elected, in the presence of His Eminence Archbishop Dr. Avak Asadourian and the spiritual fathers of the sect, where His Holiness, Catholicos All-Armenian Karikin II, nominated three names for this position.  After the gathering of the members of the sect’s sub-committees from the sub-prefectures in the Archdiocese with the Central Administrative Committee, the voting process took place and Archimandrite Oshagan Gulgulian was elected as the new bishop of the sect.  In the end, all the attendees thanked His Eminence the current Archbishop Avak Asadourian for his great role in heading the sect for 43 years and wished the new bishop success and good luck.
