The Armenian Orthodox Diocese of Iraq mourns the death of the church’s priest, Father Diran Sarkissian, pastor at the two churches of St. Sarkis in the village of Havresk and the Church of St. Vartan in the village of Avzrog, who passed away due to heart attack on Monday, 21st of February 2022. The funeral of father Diran was celebrated by His Eminence Archbishop Dr. Avak Asadourian, head of the Armenian Orthodox community in Iraq, on Friday, 25th of February 2022, the presents were  His Eminence Archbishop Felix Al-Shabbi, head of the Chaldean community in Zakho, priests at the northern region, clergymen from various churches, and His Excellency the Consul The Republic of Armenia in Erbil, Mr. Arshak Manoukian, the Consulate staff, the Vice-Chairman of the Central Administrative Committee of the Armenian Orthodox Community in Iraq, Mr. Vartan Vartannian, some of its members, members of the sub-committees, and a lot of faithful. Everyone participated in the requiem service of the deceased father at the Church of St. Sarkis in the village of Havrask. And On Saturday, the 26th of February 2022, the three days after passing (yerek yot) prayer was performed for the soul of father Diran. May his soul rest in peace and may God grant his mother, wife, brothers, sisters, sons, and daughters comfort and patience.
