On August 9, 2023, at Holy Etchmiadzin, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians received a group of Iraqi Armenian athletes participating in the Eighth Armenian Games. Member of the Central Administrative Committee & head of the delegation, Mr. Berg Tufenkjian, expressed his thanks for receiving the athletes and provided His Holiness with details of each athlete’s participation in the games. In his speech, His Holiness mentioned the situation in Artsakh and the difficulties faced by innocent people as a result of the closure of the Lachin Corridor and its consequences for Artsakh, Armenia, and the Armenian diaspora. At the end of the meeting, he gave them his fatherly blessing and wished them success. Following the meeting, the delegation visited the museum of the Mother See.
