On September 17, 2023, a Divine Liturgy was held on the occasion of the Feast of the Holy Cross, furthermore, recognizing the naming of the Armenian Orthodox Church in Erbil after the Holy Cross. The Liturgy was celebrated by Archimandrite Oshagan Gulgulian, Primate of the Diocese of the Armenian Church of Iraq. At the end of the Liturgy, with the participation of the church’s pastor, V. Rev Fr. Artun Khalatian, the Blessing of the Basil ceremony took place. The Consul General of the Republic of Armenia in Erbil, Mr. Arshag Manoukian; the Consul Antranig Harutunian; the Chairman of the Central Administrative Committee, Mr. Garabed Kaloustian; the chairman and members of the subcommittees of Erbil, Havresk, Avzruk, and Dohuk; and a group of believers attended.
