On October 14, 2024, a visit took place of His Eminence Bishop Oshagan Gulgulian, Primate of the Diocese of the Armenian Church of Iraq, accompanied by the pastor of the Church of St. Mary the Virgin in Zakho, Reverend Father Hagopos Isahakian; the Chairman of the Administrative Subcommittee, Mr. Daoud Mardirosian; a member of the committee, Mr. Armen Lazarian; and the Hungarian Consul in the Kurdistan Region, Mr. Attila Toth. His Eminence the Bishop expressed his gratitude to the Consul for his presence at the opening of the Armenian Church in Zakho and also thanked His Eminence for the support of the Hungarian humanitarian organization to build the church. In the end, His Eminence the Bishop presented a gift to the Consul – a sculpture of the image of the church on the Armenian Dove Stone.
