On April 24, 2025, under the auspices of His Grace Bishop Oshagan Gulgulian, Primate of the Diocese of the Armenian Church of Iraq, an evening commemoration was held at the Church of St. Nerses Shnorhali in Duhok, on the occasion the 110th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. The event featured the participation of the Shnorhali Choir and students from the Armenian School. The evening was attended by His Excellency Rafael Movsesoian, the Consul General of the Republic of Armenia in Erbil; as well as the heads and members of the administrative sub-committees in Duhok, Havresk, Avzrouk, and representatives of the mayors of the villages. A large crowd of parishioners also attended the commemoration. Concluding the ceremony, wreaths were placed at the Khatchkar Memorial.
