On October 22, 2023, the Armenian Orthodox Diocese of Iraq celebrated the first Episcopal Liturgy of Bishop Oshagan Gulgulian, Primate of the Diocese of the Armenian Church of Iraq, in the Church of Saint Gregory the Illuminator in Baghdad. The Liturgy was attended by the former Primate, Archbishop Avak Asadourian, the Papal Ambassador, representatives and priests of other sister churches, the pastor of the Armenian Church in Basra, clergy, the Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Iraq, the consul, the Embassy Advisor, the Director General of the Christian denominations and other religions in Iraq, the President and members of the Central Administrative Committee, representatives of associations and clubs, guests, and the faithful. At the end of the mass, a cultural evening, including dinner, was held in honor of His Eminence Bishop Gulgulian in the church courtyard. The Armenian School, diocese employees, and members of clubs and associations participated in the evening. On this occasion, the Chairman of the Central Administrative Committee, Mr. Garbed Kaloustian, presented a memorial gift to the Bishop on behalf of the Central Administrative Committee.
