On January 22/2021, the Armenian Cultural and Heritage Committee in Zakho held its first session in the presence of Father Masis Shahinian, pastor of the St. Mary the Virgin Armenian Orthodox Church in Zakho, the head of the administrative subcommittee of the sect, Mr. Tavit Shahinian, and its members and a number of the sect’s members. The session included the presentation of the members of the cultural committee to the attendance by the head of the administrative subcommittee of the community, as well as a speech by the official of the cultural committee, Eng. Vartanush Margosian, which included an explanation and clarification of the objectives of the cultural committee. In the end, Father Masis Shahinian conveyed the paternal blessing to the head of the Armenian Orthodox community, Archbishop Dr. Avak Asadourian, to the committee and to the attendees.
