On August 31, 2025, under the auspices of His Grace Bishop Oshagan Gulgulian, Primate of the Diocese of the Armenian Church of Iraq, a Divine Liturgy was held at the Church of St. Mary the Virgin in Zakho. The Liturgy was celebrated by Reverend Father Hagopos Isahagian, pastor of the Church of the Virgin Mary in Zakho, with the participation of Reverend Father Masis Shahenian, pastor of St. Nerses Shnorhali Church in Duhok.
Following the liturgy, His Grace Bishop Gulgulian blessed the leaders and members of the church choir “Anmigunak”, including Mrs. Beatrice Nersesian and Miss Kanarik Setragian, in recognition of their dedicated service to the church. His Grace then bestowed the honor of carrying the Holy Cross upon Reverend Father Hagopos Isahagian.
On the previous day, the Evening Prayer Service and a prayer for the Feast of the Discovery the Belt of the Virgin Mary were held at the same church in Zakho. Afterward, His Grace blessed the new robes of the “Anmigunak” church choir.
