On December 25, 2025, under the auspices of His Grace Bishop Oshagan Gulgulian, Primate of the Diocese of the Armenian Church of Iraq a prayer service was held at the Church of St. Mary the Virgin in Zakho on the occasion of the Feast of Saint Stephen, Protomartyr and first deacon. Following the service, the clerical vestments of the deacons (including readers, subdeacons, and evangelists) were blessed.
The ceremony was attended by Reverend Father Hagopous Ishagian, Pastor of St. Mary the Virgin; the chairman and members of the Sub-Administrative Committee in Zakho; and a gathering of faithful.
