On April 24, 2024, the Primate of the Diocese of the Armenian Church of Iraq, His Eminence Bishop Oshagan Gulgulian, accompanied by the Chairman of the Central Administrative Committee, Mr. Garbed Kaloustian, visited the Armenian faithful community in Zakho and Havresk. His Eminence the Bishop attended an event in Havresk on the occasion of the 109th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. Additionally, His Eminence the Bishop visited the Church of St. Mary the Virgin in Zakho and a prayer was held to consecrate the khachkar stone gifted by the family of Mr. Zakar Youssef Zakarian. In conclusion, an evening was held in the church hall on the occasion of the 109th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. The pastor of the Holy Cross Church in Erbil, Reverend Father Artoun Khalatian; the pastor of the Church of St. Mary the Virgin in Zakho, Reverend Father Hagopos Isahagian; the Consul of the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in Erbil, Mr. Antranik Harutunian; the Chairman of the Central Administrative Committee, Mr. Garabed Kaloustian; and members of the subcommittees in Zakho, Havresk, Avzruok, and guests attended.
