On August 30, 2025, under the auspices of His Grace Bishop Oshagan Gulgulian, Primate of the Diocese of the Armenian Church of Iraq, a Divine Liturgy was held at the Church of St. Vartan in the village of Avzrouk. The Divine Liturgy was celebrated by Reverend Father Masis Shahenian, pastor of St. Nerses Shnorhali Church in Duhok, with the participation of Reverend Father Hagopos Isahagian, pastor of the Virgin Mary Church in Zakho. At the end of the Liturgy, His Grace blessed two khachkars, one bearing the image of the Virgin Mary and the other of St. Vartan. The Liturgy was attended by the Head of the Administrative Committee in Zakho, Mr. Dawood Marderosian; along with a large group of faithful.
